Hello and welcome! I'm Shelley, floristry professional and founder of Studio Fifty Three.
Designing beautiful and meaningful flowers isn't just a job - it's a joy and a passion.
Combining natural textures, harmonious colour palettes, gentle movement and a touch of luxury, I design with intention but always stay true to nature, with authenticity, and attention to detail at the heart of everything I create.
Working closely with you, I ensure your flowers connect to your occasion through meaning, significance and seasonality, which results in beautiful florals that capture a moment in time and feel truly personal.
When I'm not designing I'm immersed in family life - running around after my teenage boys, husband, sausage dog and bearded dragon.
My happy place is anywhere outside in nature, or spending time with friends and family, drinking coffee and putting the world to rights!
I also love to run when I can, and over the last 10 years I've managed to accumulate medals from the London Marathon, Great North Run, Great South Run, endless 5 and 10Ks, endurance races and more!
How I Got Into Floristry
After starting my family I knew i didn't want to return to my job in retail. I always longed for a more creative career, but I just didn't know what direction to take.
Then COVID hit and I took the opportunity to step back from the marketing role I was in at the time and finally embrace my creative passion.
I went back to college to study floristry and became an apprentice with a leading events florist. I spent the next two years working towards my professional qualifications, perfecting my skills, and embracing every opportunity that came my way - working at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, competing in National Competitions (winning a Gold medal!) and building on my experience as much as I possibly could.
Working on a variety of floral styles for weddings, events, retail and corporate flowers, it wasn't long before I decided I wanted to build a brand of my own. Today, I work from my purpose-built floral studio in Warfield, Berkshire - Studio Fifty Three.
